How Can You Find Top Items Sold on eBay?Finding hot selling items on eBay is not always easy, it's often time consuming, but it's a necessary pursuit, and a key to successful selling on eBay. You have to find products that people really need or want in order to make money on the Web. There are various techniques available to find these products, usually requiring some research work on your part.
- Here is one way to find best selling items on eBay that eBay provides: In the upper, right hand corner of any eBay page find a link "Sell" and place your cursor on it. When a drop-down menu appears, click on "What's Hot." Scroll down and find the items that have greater than ten bids. These are top sellers on eBay.
I used this technique recently and found an item titled APPLE IPOD TOUCH 8GB PORTABLE MP3 PLAYER. It had 21 bids and was selling for about $76.00 and with about 1hr left on auction. I clicked on this item title/link and arrived at the item's details page. Examining these details, I found that the condition of the item was used and in good condition. The next step would be to find this item at the best possible price you can, on eBay, a wholesale company, garage sale (yes, you can!) or thrift store. Do the research work, on eBay, yourself. This technique, especially if you are not used to doing it, again, can be time consuming work. However, it's the most reliable way to find top sellers on eBay or on the Internet. See example of this simple technique below under “collectibles.” Do various searches, such as: hot selling items on eBay, top sellers on eBay, and so on. Study the results and find what might be a reliable source of information. Occasionally, you can find useful information this way, but you never know for sure, until you actually try selling the products yourself. 
Networking: “Mingle” with other sellers on eBay.com, Amazon.com, etc. or where ever there is a forum or hot selling items on eBay discussion going on. Be active, ask questions, discuss with others, explore, keeping your eyes and ears open for any word of a top seller on eBay. It's a way of life for many eBay sellers and other Web merchants. Generally, these are the popular items you are looking for, items of high value. In my example, a collectible Muffy can sometimes be a very popular item.
BooksIt's a fact that books are a big seller on the Internet, especially on eBay and Amazon.com. Use the same search technique as mentioned above for collectibles to find the wide variety and types of books that shoppers are looking for. In children's books for example, many of the “Dr. Seuss” books, and children's books of the fold-out picture type are popular sellers, especially ones that are vintage or hard to find. Many eBay power sellers sell just books or a particular kind or type of book and do just great. will give you a head start.
Specialty ItemsThere are many, many specialty items that can be sold for a profit on eBay. Especially items that are rare, unusual, relatively hard to get, a good deal. One example is nice driftwood for aquariums. Run an eBay search for "driftwood" and you will see what I mean.You first have to know what to look for, and sometimes you have to “dig” a bit to find that vein of gold, but when you find it you will shout, Eureka!
